Financial and Professional - Consulting

Our Consulting and Advisory Practice adopts a pro-active approach to designing specialised classes of insurance where client requirements are not met by standard products.

The team was established in response to client feedback in three main areas:

1. Many larger and more specialised clients see their most fundamental need as being expert professional advice from highly-experienced practitioners. These clients welcome an advisory-led slant to the design, placement and on-going management of their programmes. We also offer consulting advice as a stand-alone service, on a retainer or project basis.

2. Financial and professional lines insurances give rise to particular complexities and nuances affecting coverage. Each insurer’s approach to policy wordings is different, for example, so little can be taken for granted. There is ‘devil in the detail’ in this subject matter, which demands a strong technical background. In the case of directors’ and officers’ liabilities, for example, the difference between getting cover right and wrong could be ruinous. This can also impact upon professional partnerships.

3. Many clients want to be in more control of their insurance strategy than commercial insurance market processes typically encourage. They note a lack of creativity, flexibility and lateral thinking in the insurance community, and therefore welcome new and different creative insights.
