Employees at Arthur J. Gallagher's Liverpool branch have raised nearly £2,500 for The Oliver King Foundation, a charity which raises awareness of SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome).

The medical condition commonly affects people aged between 12 and 35 and The Oliver King Foundation focuses on ensuring schools have the knowledge and equipment they need to help any young people who are affected by the condition.

The team at Arthur J. Gallagher, based on Sefton Street, took part in a variety of fundraising activities over the course of last year, from sponsored golf events and race nights to dress-down days and bake sales. Following the superb efforts of everyone involved, Arthur J. Gallagher presented a cheque in the sum of £2,289.91 to the charity. All the money raised will go towards purchasing lifesaving defibrillators to be placed in the North West.

Stephen Penketh, Regional Managing Director of Arthur J. Gallagher in the North West, pictured left, said: “The Oliver King Foundation was the overwhelming choice for the team to support here in Liverpool during 2015, because of the work it does to raise awareness of SADS, especially in young people, which really resonated with our colleagues.

“I’d like to thank everyone who threw themselves into the fundraising efforts, but also those who dug deep into their pockets. It’s down to this support that we were able to raise such a great amount for a fantastic cause, which will hopefully go some way to make a real difference to many lives.”

Thanking the team for their efforts, Mark King, founder of The Oliver King Foundation, pictured right, commented: “We want to say a massive thank you to Arthur J. Gallagher for its fantastic and continued support. The money the team has raised will go towards placing lifesaving defibrillators in the North West. Without the support of local businesses we would struggle to bring in enough funds to ensure we save lives, so we are really grateful.”
