Llantrisant-based Arthur J. Gallagher business manager Craig Winter has been announced as a finalist in the prestigious 2016 Leading Wales Awards, having made the three-strong shortlist in the ‘Next Generation Leader’ category.

Craig’s successful nomination sees Gallagher head to the awards ceremony on Tuesday 14th June with twin hopes for success, after regional managing director for Wales Mike Jones was announced as a finalist in the ‘Leadership in the Private Sector’ category.

It also follows hot on the heels of Craig being named Young Achiever of the Year by Cardiff Insurance Institute, having impressed the judges with successfully growing and managing his new business team while remaining dedicated to his own professional development.

The Leading Wales Awards, now in their 12th year and held in association with Cardiff Metropolitan University, seek to recognise and celebrate individuals whose leadership is making a real difference in Wales and contributing to developing prosperity in the country.

Since joining Gallagher in 2013, Craig has grown his team from 12 to nearly 30, including 25 new business sales executives. Under his leadership in 2015, the team doubled its revenue and achieved record financials. Recruiting the right people with a ‘can-do’ attitude and then working with them to creating viable career paths that reward and recognise team member achievements, sit at the heart of Craig’s leadership style.

We wish Craig all the best for 14 June and congratulate him on being named as a ‘Next Generation Leader’ finalist.
