Gallagher has further strengthened its global mining and property capabilities with the appointment of international mining specialist Stuart Hill as a director, effective immediately. Stuart will be based in London and report to Neil Stewart, Managing Director of Global & Corporate, which provides comprehensive cross-class risk and insurance support to corporate businesses on a global basis.

Bringing extensive knowledge of the mining sector’s challenges and risk management and transfer requirements, alongside broader international property experience, Stuart will focus on business development, client servicing, account management and placement to further enhance Gallagher’s cross-class, cradle-to-grave offering for international clients.

Stuart was previously a partner in JLT Specialty’s mining practice having joined the firm in 2010, with territorial client experience stretching from South Africa and Africa to Latin America and Australia.

Neil Stewart said: “Stuart is a great strategic hire for us, enabling us to build out our core strengths in terms of experience and expertise, and further enhance our offering for international mining and property clients — wherever they are based.

“Welcoming Stuart onto the team, particularly with his in-depth knowledge of the mining sector, is a great example of how we are continuing to invest in and attract high quality market practitioners, in order to continually expand the capabilities we offer clients.”
