London, 27 April 2017George Burrows secures multi-year deal with British Transport Police Federation
Police insurance specialist George Burrows, part of Arthur J. Gallagher, has won a competitive tender to secure a three year exclusive partnership with the British Transport Police Federation (“BTPF”) providing a suite of personal insurance covers on a competitive group basis for its members.
British Transport Police is the force dedicated to protecting and serving the railway and lightrail systems throughout England, Wales and Scotland. With 3,069 serving police officers their mission is to keep levels of disruption, crime and the fear of crime on the railways as low as possible and they were responsible for 1,269 life-saving interventions in 2015/16.
George Burrows has more than 50 years’ experience in providing quality personal protection insurance products for serving and retired police officers. Using their knowledge and expertise in this sector they have created a tailored scheme which provides extensive cover recognising the unique and often dangerous activities members of the British Transport Police undertake. Important aspects of the programme include life insurance without exclusions, accident / sickness / counselling and legal expenses benefits tailored to provide cover and support that is specific to their needs.
Rob Constable, Managing Director at George Burrows, commented: “We are honoured and proud to be working with the British Transport Police Federation to support its members. Our specialist team has created a group programme that provides wide-ranging personal insurance covers and services that duly recognise and take account of the myriad risks that officers face in their line of work.”
Darren Townsend, General Secretary of the British Transport Police Federation, said: “Police officers face dangerous and challenging situations on a daily basis, so we wanted to be sure our Group Insurance Scheme provided the best possible cover. George Burrows offers significantly more cover, in a wider range of circumstances, than we have had before and offers our members peace of mind, especially if they are injured – or worse. Additions such as gadget insurance and breakdown cover mean the scheme is great value for money.
“The support we have had to establish the scheme, including training for our staff, has been tailored to our needs and we know the George Burrows team is on the end of the phone if we need them.”
