Arthur J. Gallagher was delighted to support the cream of UK manufacturing this week as a key sponsor of the 2015 Made in the UK awards, which are designed to recognise and celebrate the diversity, rude health and excellence of British industry.

Hosted by Insider Media at St George’s Hall in Liverpool, and held in association with UK Trade & Investment, last night’s awards event marked the culmination of regional heats —bringing together all the winners across nine separate categories to vie for the national titles.

While Beaconsfield Footwear, trading as Hotter Shoes, scooped the top award of Manufacturer of the Year, Arthur J. Gallagher’s Regional Managing Director for the North-West Steve Penketh (pictured, centre) was honoured to present GB UK Healthcare with the Medical, Life Sciences & Healthcare Award trophy — just one of the specialist fields we’re committed to supporting as a community-based broker, backed by national industry practices and global reach.

A privately owned company manufacturing and distributing medical products, GB UK Healthcare was singled out for the launch of its “self-funded, state-of-the-art, purpose-built head office and distribution centre [which] demonstrates its commitment to supplying quality products for its customers”.

The team from Gallagher was also delighted to see valued client Acorn Mobility Services take to the stage as winner of the Export Award, sponsored by UK Trade & Investment. The judges said of Acorn: “From this incredibly tough field, family-owned stairlift manufacturer Acorn has triumphed. The fact that they can design, manufacture, deliver and install a stairlift in an amazingly short period of time seriously impressed the judges.”

Steve Penketh, Arthur J. Gallagher’s Regional Managing Director for the North West, said: “Innovation is the key to a continued thriving British manufacturing industry and the creativity and achievements of all those recognised last night prove there’s certainly no shortage of ideas, investment and excellence on that front. It’s an honour to back the best of UK manufacturing and help celebrate the efforts of so many firms that share our entrepreneurial spirit and determination to do things differently in order to grow and diversify their businesses.”
