Sue Langley joins Gallagher in UK as Non-Executive Chairman
Arthur J. Gallagher — the international division of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (NYSE: AJG) – today announces the appointment of Sue Langley as Non-Executive Chairman of the Arthur J. Gallagher Holdings (UK) Limited Board, subject to regulatory approval. Sue will join the company with immediate effect.
Sue’s career spans the retail, consulting and financial services sector and includes more than 14 years within the insurance industry. Sue is currently a Non-Executive Director for UKAR (Northern Rock Asset Management and Bradford & Bingley) and Chairman of its Remuneration Committees, as well as the lead Non-Executive Director for the Home Office. Until recently, she was also CEO of the government’s Financial Services Organisation within UK Trade & Investment, tasked with encouraging high value foreign investment & trade and strengthening the UK’s reputation as the world’s leading financial centre. In 2015 Sue was awarded an OBEi for services to Women in Business.
Sue has extensive experience and understanding of the commercial, customer and regulatory nuances of the international insurance world from her previous roles as Director of Market Development and a member of the Executive team at Lloyd's of London, Director of Lloyd’s Asia and Chairman of Lloyd’s Japan. Prior to this she was Chief Operating Officer for Hiscox and a member of the Executive team for the Hiscox Group where she held various board positions. Sue joined Hiscox from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she was a principal consultant working with a range of FTSE 100 companies.
