Thousands raised by local Gallagher team for Birmingham Children's Hospital
Members of Arthur J. Gallagher's local team were delighted to visit Birmingham Children’s Hospital this month, having raised just under £13,000 for its charity — as part of a wider volunteering and support programme for the organisation.
Team members took part in a variety of fundraising activities, from sponsored sky dives and abseils, to fun runs and bake days. They also got hands on with the charity, volunteering to do garden tidies, as well as spending time with the children doing arts and crafts and helping them to write Christmas letters to Santa.
Following the superb efforts from everyone involved, Arthur J. Gallagher presented a cheque in the sum of £12,718 to the Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity this month. All the money raised will go towards providing additional facilities, equipment and supporting research at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, to help make a real difference to the children it cares for and their families.
David Wheatley, Chairman of Arthur J. Gallagher in Birmingham, pictured left, said: “Birmingham Children’s Hospital was a popular choice for the team to support here in Birmingham, as it not only helps local children, but kids from all over the UK.
“I’d like to thank everyone who threw themselves into the fundraising efforts, but also those who dug deep into their pockets. It’s down to this support that we were able to raise such a great amount for a fantastic cause, which will hopefully go some way to make a real difference to many lives.”
Thanking the team for their efforts, Laura Richards, pictured middle, Corporate Partnerships Consultant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, commented: “We want to say a massive thank you to Arthur J. Gallagher for its fantastic and continued support.
“The money they have raised will make a big difference to our brave children and their families as we continue our plans to improve our facilities – enabling us to treat even more children from Birmingham, the West Midlands and around the country.”
